Buying wine because the bottle is pretty is not always the most effective stocking strategy, but this bottle of Domaine de Raissac Muscat Petits Grains was really pretty. The wine was a pretty colour too, a sort of orangey yellow, not brash, more autumnal.
It smelled of honey made from fragrant garden flowers. That flavour carried through with some apricot-peachiness which complemented the colour well.
Despite the honied fruit, rich colour and good legs, it was dry, which worked well. I’m not going to claim this was my favourite wine in the world, but I’d happily drink it again.
