Kimbao Sauvignon Blanc 2009

By | March 7, 2010

I admit, I liked this wine because it had a paw print on it and when I was little my friend had a big dog called Kimba. He was a fabulous Alsatian who followed us everywhere and could run all day. I know that’s not a great reason to buy a wine, but it made me happy!
The wine itself was surprisingly good for one chosen on label and name alone.
Kimboa Sauvignon Blanc from Naked Wines is a bright Sauvignon Blanc with more fruitiness than usual, which came to the fore as it warmed a little. At about £6 it’s in the reasonable bracket for Sauvignons, offering something a little different from the crispness of New Zealand examples.

We wouldn’t pass up this wine if we came across it either! 🙂 Love, love, love Sauvignon Blancs!
As far as cute paw wine labels go, have you ever tried the Cuatro Pasos Bierzo? We’ve been going gaga over the Bierzos we’ve been enjoying during the last few months, and for the price point, you just can’t beat them! I am not sure if this wine is distributed where you live, but if you come across it, this is a tasty wine that we highly recommend.
