Yalumba Riesling 2009

By | September 5, 2010

Sometimes I’m really in the mood for a Riesling, something not fully dry with petrol and lime, served cold and tasting great.
This isn’t that wine. It’s nice enough, it’s light and grapefruity with a little sherbet and if you squint a bit you can taste lime, but it’s thin. Maybe it was the bottle we had, but this was thinner than I’d hoped for, and although we tried it a a few temperature points to try and find its sweet spot, we didn’t succeed.
There were no faults, it just didn’t deliver. I think I’d give it another go in the hope that this bottle wasn’t at its best.
