Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008

By | February 14, 2009

The nice people at Kim Crawford sent me a bottle of their Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2008. If my Dad had known there was a free bottle on the way he probably wouldn’t have bought one for himself, but he didn’t so they didn’t lose a sale.
It’s a pale lemon colour with good legs. It smells of grapefruit with a fruity zing of lychees. The grapefruit and lychees carry through in the taste along with a flinty edge. There’s lime too which mixes in with the grapefruit to make a fresh and refreshing wine.
It drinks well on its own, though would zip up prawn or scallop dishes. It was great for the price – but I’d actually pay sticker price to drink it too.
